Math Sucks

July 25, 2010

Top Wildfox, Jeans – Topshop, Shoes – Gift from Korea, Sunglasses – Ray Ban

I am staying in London at the moment and I am so not used to the warm weather so I stupidly thought I would wear jeans. Anyway, the top in this photo is a Wildfox t-shirt which says ‘Math Sucks’ I LOVE it, because let’s be honest – math does suck. My sister got it for me for christmas, in place of a Marcus Lupfer jumper which was wahayy out of our price range. I adore it though and have worn it so many times. The shoes were given to me as a gift from Celia when she was cleaning out her shoe closet. They are so cool, higher than i usually go but they’re so comfortable that it doesn’t matter. Although, I did have a nasty blister on my left foot after walking around London in them all day…. maybe next time I’ll only wear them for a few hours.

Tejada Estilo

July 24, 2010

So its been a while since I posted but I have been busy busy busy. I went to San Francisco to do work experience for Celia Tejada. She is head designer of pottery barn but used to have her own fashion label and she is fabulous. I think she is one of the most inspiring people I’ve ever met and loooveeeddddd spending time with her. She has this amazing vineyard/ranch nearby where we spent the weekend. Being an artist at heart Celia LOVES photography and photo shoots so she styled Gaby (pictured above) and I in her own maxi dresses and we posed around the ranch kitted out with wellies and cowboy hats. These are some of the photos taken… even though its not my usual style I like the rustic feel of Tejada Estilo.

Bad Bloggers

July 23, 2010

So I am aware that we have been very bad bloggers recently. Truth be told, we don’t have that many followers, but still! We have been away a lot though, which is why we haven’t got round to posting. In the past three weeks I have done a week’s fashion summer course at central st martin’s, gone to Mallorca with Cecely and some other friends, and done a week’s work experience at a small scarf business. Of course it’s been amazing, CSM was one of the most enjoyable week’s of my life and here are a few photos from my week there, I didn’t get much time to photo the work we were doing unfortunately! Mallorca was also incredible, we had such a fun time together and it makes me really sad to to think about next year-as we’re all going to different sixth forms. Anyway, we will try to blog more over the rest of the summer, although I am going away to France tomorrow and Cecely is currently in Greece…Sorry for the long post, have a good weekend!

02/07/10

July 2, 2010

Dress: H&M, Shoes: Ebay, Necklace: Thomas Sabo, Rings: H&M

Even thought it’s summer, I still like to wear black a lot. It seems kind of depressing, but generally I prefer to wear darker colours and rarely wear prints…So today I picked up this tunic/dress from H&M, I really like the shape. I also got these rings, which were insanely cheap, and very me. Sorry for the chipped nails…

Cecely’s in America at the moment-sooo jealous-doing work experience and such, so that’s why I’ve been doing most of the posts recently.

Lazy Days

June 27, 2010

I know this another of many summer posts but I finally feel like Summer is here and the sun’s out today in Cambridge.  I love artsy photography in fields because it looks so free and the locations are always beautiful, maybe we’ll have a try sometime. I also like all the nude and white coloured dresses here, to me they are the essence of summer dressing-layers of flowing, sheer fabrics.

Stella McCartney Resort ’11

June 26, 2010

Stella McCartney’s Resort ’11 collection blows me away. Usually, I prefer more neutral colours and tend to shy away from wearing blue, but I find every piece of her collection so simple, beautiful and elegant. I particularly like the mix of sharp tailoring, romantic and flowery pieces and those stunning bright floral prints.  The last image is an explosion of colour, and I love the edgy yet incredibly cute and summery look Stella McCartney has created. I also like the fact that she held a tea party to showcase the collection – with chess  (:

Abi – Top:H&M, Shoes:Zara, Skirt:Topshop, Earrings: Topshop

Here is the second instalment of the summery photo shoot we did together, all of which were taken in Cecely’s garden-how nice is it?! I love the one where Cecely is laughing, we achieved this by me making lame jokes and trying to get her to laugh! So it’s basically official, Summer has started for us. We have nearly finished exams and soon we’ll be jetting off to various places, but we’ll still have time for blogging!

Spring Summer 2010

June 18, 2010

So I’m a bit slow here but I am in love with the Proenza Schouler and Prada’s s/s10 runway looks. The tie dye effect in Proenza’s is so cutee. I might try and replicate it at some point, but maybe a day I feel a bit more artsy. Also the sequined dress from Prada is lushhh.

Summer summer summer is here

June 17, 2010

Red shorts from Topshop, White Crochet top from Topshop, Black pumps from H and M

Abi made the skirt, White top from Zara, Brown brogue shoes River Island, Hoop earrings from Topshop and Necklaces also from Topshop

Today was a sunny sunny day in Cambridge and after our exams (ugh, Latin and Geography – fun stuff) we decided to do some outfit posts. It was so nice out, not like English weather usually. In the first photo I am wearing my recent buy – a pink bandeau (Topshop), white crochet top (Topshop) and red heart shorts (yes, yet again Topshop). So I am a bit clad out in Topshop but oh well. Then Abi is wearing her white crop top from Zara, which is adorable it has a grey printed picture on the front and is really baggy as she may have bought it a few sizes too big, but it still looks gorgeous. Then the skirt is a black bodycon skirt which she added silver studs to (DIY all the way). She is also wearing brown brogues (River Island) and gold hoops (Topshop).

I hope the weather is this nice everyday this week. We have more outfit posts to come but we thought we’d pace ourselves instead of uploading them all immediately.

Peace out.

Military/Utility Trend

June 16, 2010

A selection of  High Street (ish) Utility inspired pieces

Top-River Island, Skirt-Zara, Jacket-Topshop, Boots-Carvela, Earrings-Topshop

So the whole military/utility trend is my favourite one of the moment and although this Balmain show was ages ago I love it and as soon as my exams are over I am going to make one of those distressed tees. This lunchtime I took a few photos in my garden in a utility-esque outfit, it was such a nice day today. I also made a little collage of some clothes that I have my eye on… but at the moment I’m saving up to go to Majorca with my girlsss! Summer ’10 (:
